The trouble we are having

School counselor is the one who rightfully called DHS on me for suspected abuse of my daughter.  I have no hard feelings of her for this.  She did her job!  Only it's the only time I have seen this woman do her job.  grr

So last year I went to a student study team meeting.  She kept referencing the test that was done two years ago. grrrrr.   At that time I didn't know that I needed to initiate a new one to be done.  This year I started asking questions about 504 and IEP's.  This counselor has stood in my way the whole time.  Two weeks ago I finally get the paperwork to allow my daughter to be tested.  (nothing for a temp 504)  This office lady calls me and asks where the paperwork is.  (how am I to know?)  I sent it back.  My daughter says she gave it to the counselor.  The counselor is out of the office for another week.  Now they will be sending another one home.  Again I ask about getting a temp 504 in place while we wait for the testing and the IEP.  She says sorry but you will have to go through the counselor for this.  I understand that!! but what if the counselor is the only object standing in the way of this?  How do I get her to see the need for it?  I just want the best for my daughter.  Her teacher will be leaving in March to have a baby.  Her teacher already does the things I want to see in a 504 and IEP.  I just want to know that when the Sub teacher comes that he/she will do the same things.  They are working! Examples are:  seating arraignment, helping her transcribe as she tests for math, reading the story's with her during reading comprehension tests etc etc.  My daughter has everyone on board that wants to see her succeed.  Why is the counselor so against this?
